10-YEAR JUBILEE DUO CONCERT: vocalist Lua Hadar + pianist Jason Martineau

On Sunday, March 29 at 6pm we are proud to present the 10-Year Jubilee Duo Concert celebrating ten years of music-making between vocalist Lua Hadar and pianist Jason A. Martineau.

LuaChineseTwo8x12Vocalist Lua Hadar interprets an eclectic song list with swing, passion, humor and a soaring range. She has been molded by cultural exchange in places diverse as Bali, Russia, Switzerland, Japan, Thailand, France and Italy, where she performed and taught for five years. Lua has charmed audiences at such noted jazz clubs as Yoshi’s Oakland and New York’s Iridium to Bangkok’s Thailand Cultural Center and the Swan Bar in Paris. Hadar’s band Twist has been cultivating their cosmopolitan jazz sound since 2007, twisting the style of international standards and performing originals in 7 languages (and counting). Hadar’s discography includes It’s About Time, her first project with pianist/music director Jason Martineau, initiating their 10-year collaboration in 2005. Lua Hadar with Twist followed in 2008, and the CD/DVD project Like A Bridge was recorded live at Fantasy Studios in 2012, under the direction of Emmy-winning director Lawrence Jordan. Lua’s recent projects have brought her to San Francisco’s Society Cabaret for French Bastille Day with her band and to host and co-produce the Italian-themed festival Cabaret Comico. Lua and Jason also performed an Italian concert in benefit to the San Francisco Symphony in January 2015. This spring, Lua looks forward to teaching a master class in France.
