A WARP IN THE WEFT: Surrealist art exhibit

June 1st – July 31st 2012

‘A Warp In The Weft’

Artists: Aram Larsen, Menlo Macfarlane, Douglass Truth, Della Heywood, Winston Smith, Willem De Groot, Rebecca Seary, R.A. Sutfin, and more!

Opening reception: June 1st, 6 – 10pm
Gallery Hours: Fri 6-9 pm, Sat-Sun 1-7 pm, or by appointment by calling (415) 500-2323.

Join us at the Emerald Tablet for a fresh summer blend of artists spinning alternate realities by Surrealist-inspired image magic and trickery. A playful mood and whimsical metaphysics weave seamlessly into unsettling tweaks on familiar landscapes, as the fabric of the everyday is teased apart for a series of peeks into dimensions beyond. JUST IN: This show is an exceedingly rare chance to admire Winston Smith’s 24 ft long collage mural, the Cenacolaccio: an exact replica of Leonardo’s “Last Supper” — with certain “additions” of the kind Winston is known for.
