This first Friday, we’re also introducing guest musicians tbd, an excellent jazz quartet which will perform live music at The Emerald Tablet on Friday September 7 and Friday September 14, with other dates to be announced. tbd–a quartet with two trumpets, bass and drums, plays their music in a linear way, creating implied harmonies, and stretching traditional forms.

The original music they perform was written with this particular instrumentation in mind, and has been created since the group began playing together. Also the band’s original compositions often grow from a small idea and are developed by all of the members of the group. In this band, the line is the most important element, and it determines the direction and expresses the emotion and story of the music.
