LITQUAKE’S EPICENTER: Molly Antopol with Anthony Marra

On Tuesday, April 1 at 7:00pm, The Emerald Tablet is thrilled to host Litquake‘s Epicenter, featuring Molly Antopol and Anthony Marra!

[Antolpol is] a writer of seismic talent…Not since Robert Stone has a writer so examined the nature of disillusionment and the ways in which newfound hope can crack the cement of failed dreams.” — Adam Johnson, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Orphan Master’s Son

Litquake is pleased to present Molly Antopol in conversation with Anthony Marra, author of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, in celebration of Molly’s debut story collection, The UnAmericans.

Molly Antopol teaches creative writing at Stanford University, where she was a recent Wallace Stegner Fellow. A recipient of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 award, she holds an MFA from Columbia University and lives in San Francisco. Her debut story collection, The UnAmericans, will be published by W.W. Norton in February 2014. She’s at work on a novel, The After Party, which will also be published by Norton.

Ann Patchett, author of State of Wonder andBel Canto, said Marra’s debut was “my favorite book of the year….Many people can write beautifully, but few manage to create a whole that is more valuable than the sum of its parts. Marra does this in spades. It is a brilliant book.”
