SAVE NORTH BEACH VILLAGE: movie night for the neighborhood

On Thursday, February 27th at 7pm The Emerald Tablet is proud to host Save North Beach Village for an evening of flicks, snacks and conversation centered on preserving the historic character of SF’s beloved North Beach neighborhood.

dans-l-ombre-de-san-francisco-woman-on-the-run-30-04-1951-29-11-1950-1-gSave North Beach Village is a group committed to preserving historic North Beach and keeping it a livable neighborhood for all. They have filed a federal lawsuit to prevent the Central Subway from impinging on Washington Square Park and other historic resources. Please support this effort. See SaveNorthBeachVillage.org for more on the status of the lawsuit and how you can contribute.

In addition to the conversation, SNBV will screen Woman on the Run, a 1950 film noir shot in San Francisco. Ann Sheridan plays a wife searching for her husband who is fleeing the police, and Dennis O’Keefe is a reporter helping her find him. A suspenseful chase film with snappy and witty dialog, and great shots of Washington Square Park, Telegraph Hill, the Embarcadero, Chinatown and more (runtime is 77 minutes).

Thursday February 27. Doors 6:30 pm. Show 7:00 pm.
